Why Galapagos?
The Galapagos tortoise, a native of the Galapagos Islands, are known for their extraordinarily long lifespans, which often exceeds 100 years.
They feast on a diverse menu of lush vegetation, including fruits and plants, but they’re also a master of abstention.
During periods of scarcity, the Galapagos tortoise has an incredible ability to endure without food for 365 days! It taps into its remarkable reserve of body fat and water, acting as a self-sufficient oasis in the midst of an arid landscape.
With patience and fortitude, it remains dormant, curbing its hunger and adapting to the challenging environment. As the tortoise teaches us, resilience and self-restraint should be embraced for longevity.

health and vitality
Similarly, when humans intentionally practice water fasting, it can lead to various health benefits, such as weight loss, improved insulin sensitivity, and decreased inflammatory markers, which collectively increase lifespan.
These shared characteristics between the survival skills of the Galapagos tortoise and human dietary practices highlight how we might learn from nature to pursue our own health and vitality.

Ani Bere A Enso Gya
The pattern seen in the Galapagos Healing logo is a drawing of a tortoise with a Ghanaian Adinkra symbol.
Adinkra symbols represent concepts or aphorisms. The pattern you see repeated on the turtles shell here means ‘Ani Bere A Enso Gya’.
This is an Akan proverb which means “No matter how red-eyed one becomes (i.e. how serious one becomes), his eyes do not spark flames.”
It is a symbol of patience, self-containment, self-discipline, and self-control.
